A really odd set of circumstances seem to be about to precipitate fuel poverty in rural communities - the war in Ukraine has driven oil prices higher, particularly heating oil which has tripled in price in the past six months. Fuel poverty occurs when a household spends more than 10% of its income on fuel.
In addition, supply chain uncertainties mean that there's doubt about being able to get that oil delivered to you at all.
