Right and left, partisanship predicts (asymmetric) vulnerability to misinformation

Right and left, partisanship predicts (asymmetric) vulnerability to misinformation | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

We analyze the relationship between partisanship, echo chambers, and vulnerability to online misinformation by studying news sharing behavior on Twitter. While our results confirm prior findings that online misinformation sharing is strongly correlated with right-leaning partisanship, we also uncover a similar, though weaker, trend among left-leaning users. Because of the correlation between a user’s partisanship and their position within a partisan echo chamber, these types of influence are confounded. To disentangle their effects, we performed a regression analysis and found that vulnerability to misinformation is most strongly influenced by partisanship for both left- and right-leaning users.

#HR Only Have 15 Minutes A Day For Twitter #Networking? Here's What To Do

#HR Only Have 15 Minutes A Day For Twitter #Networking? Here's What To Do | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

I opened my Twitter account a few years ago, but for a while I didn't have much to show for it. As of April 27, 2014, I had never posted a single tweet and had a mere 85 followers.

From a professional standpoint, that was a problem. I'm the head of a sales training and consulting firm that specializes in applying behavioral science—the study of how the human brain makes choices—to business and sales. I knew I needed to communicate better with more prospective clients, and I wondered what would happen if I applied my science background to boosting my social media reach.

So I decided to set myself up as a guinea pig. But from the outset, I made one rule: I'd never spend more than 15 minutes a day on Twitter. Instead, I'd have to use some behavioral science–backed strategies to produce the greatest results in the shortest amount of time.

focus on offering something genuinely valuable to the type of user who'd be valuable to have in your network or associated with your brand.

#PersonalBranding MacGuffins - Stuff You Have To Have To Get That Dream Job

#PersonalBranding MacGuffins - Stuff You Have To Have To Get That Dream Job | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Personal Branding MacGuffins
We explored Why Every Website Has A MacGuffin in Curation Revolution (http://sco.lt/9L7oCf and at http://www.curagami.com/featured/website-marketing-macguffins/ ;). That got us to thinking about personal branding MacGuffins.

MacGuffins in film are plot devices that move the story forward but may not be fully explained to the audience. The glowing case in Pulp Fiction is a famous film MacGuffin.

Online MacGuffins are things customers expect. Things like Free Shipping for an ecommerce site whose absence does more damage than its presence creates benefit. What are MacGuffins for your personal brand?

Personal Brand MacGuffins include:

* Having a LinkedIn Profile.
* Having recommendations from every recent job on your LI Profile. * Having YOUR picture on your LI Profile.
* Including a link to your Twitter on your LI Profile.
* Including a link to your personal blog or company website (and your personal blog scores higher).
* Telling your story in detail, supported by your recommendations and visually.

What other "personal brand" MacGuffins, things that hurt more in their absence than may help in their presence, can you discover and share?

Learning doesn't have to be a "loner" experience.

Russian psychologist Lev Vygotsky suggested that knowledge is constructed through our interactions with others.
MOOCs (Massive Open Online Learning) leverage our inherent social needs by bringing people together to learn the same material in a virtual group. Students can express what they're feeling and experiencing with others in a shared space, making the learning journey more enjoyable and less daunting.

As people gain confidence, they often enjoy friendly competition with fellow learners to push themselves to compete exercises and assignments. Recognition is part of our need for building self-esteem—and some courses have gamification built in to reward student accomplishments and community helpfulness.

This is an interesting intro to social constructionism as it applies to eLearning.  I hope the MOOCs do what they suggest and are not just an attempt to throw jargon out there.

#RRHH twitter: 9 claves de gestión (Estrategia, TL y Listas) | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
