#HR Working with your Leadership Vision

#HR Working with your Leadership Vision   | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

A vision is your overview of the way things could be.  It is your clear image of what you are working towards.  In your role as a leader, you can see how things could be improved and made better.  Putting all these pieces together in a format of how things should be will give you your overall leadership vision that helps you to get your ideas across powerfully, accurately, and quickly.  Once you have a vision, you tell people about it and use it to lead people.

Daniel Tremblay's curator insight, March 16, 2017 8:14 AM
"Effectively communicating the vision means living the vision; that means doing what you say and practicing what you preach."

One thing is not clearly stated in the article.  The vision has to be communicated with our heart and soul; not only with our head.  As en employee, we must FEEL that the vision is sincere, genuine, authentic, ...  We must BELIEVE in what the leader says (and not only understand what he is saying).  Without the personnal involvement from the leader, the vision communicated may remain only bla bla bla.

Combien de fois voyons-nous des situations où les "bottines ne suivent pas les babines"...  Ou qu'on ne sent pas l'authenticité derrière le message...

#HR The 3 Stages of Failure in Life and Work (And How to Fix Them)

#HR The 3 Stages of Failure in Life and Work (And How to Fix Them) | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
One of the hardest things in life is to know when to keep going and when to move on. On the one hand, perseverance and grit are key to achieving success in any field.  On the other hand, telling someone to never give up is terrible advice. Successful people give up all the time. If something is not working, smart people don’t repeat it endlessly. They revise. They adjust. They pivot. They quit. The key question is: how do you know when to give up and when to stick with it? One way to answer this question is to use a framework I call the 3 Stages of Failure.

Bold but Flexible: How to Effectively Share Your Vision

Bold but Flexible: How to Effectively Share Your Vision | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Not too long ago, opinion researchers held a focus group experiment in two Colorado towns: Boulder, known for its left-leaning politics, and Colorado Springs, where views typically reflect a more rightward bent. Not surprisingly, the researchers found that when people talked about big, complex issues like climate change or same-sex marriage with others who thought the same way, they didn’t become smarter on the subject; they just became more set in their opinions.

Creating change requires that organizations effectively communicate their vision in a way that draws in both existing allies and "unusual suspects."

Best Advice I Ever Got: Have the Courage to Follow Your Vision

Best Advice I Ever Got: Have the Courage to Follow Your Vision | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

I attribute much of our success to three pieces of advice that have become our guiding principles:

1. Ask, "How much do I really want it?"

My high school crew coach told me that success only depends on one thing: how much you really want it. The difference between winning and losing, he would say, is nothing more than deciding that you want to win.

This advice has had a huge impact on my life and career. Every time I've dreamt up a new idea or venture, my coach's words have come to mind: How much do you really want this?

Asking yourself this question forces you to pause and evaluate the situation honestly. Do you have a true passion for it? Are you ready to do whatever it takes to make it work? Taking a genuine look at how much something matters to you will help you weed out certain projects and make time for the ones that truly captivate you.

Visionary leaders inspire others to work toward the future goal for the company. Visionary leaders set the blueprint, see things early, know where they headed, able to calculate the risks and knowing how to mitigate it, communicate the vision, and most of things inspire others to achieve the same goal. Having leader who has no vision is like blind man lead the crowd. Walking through the path with no goal and uncertainty.

There is a dramatic difference between a self-centered, driven “leader” and a vision-centered, team leader. In this follow up to one of my most popular posts on visionary leaders, we take a deeper look at key differences in influencing others between an ego-driven motivation and a healthy place.

Here are some telltale signs of the difference:

3 Daily Habits Of Peak Performers, According To Michael Phelps' Coach

3 Daily Habits Of Peak Performers, According To Michael Phelps' Coach | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Phelps’ record is extraordinary. His 22 total medals and 18 gold medals is the greatest medal performance in all of Olympic history. I caught up with Bowman to speak about his new book, The Golden Rules, and to learn how his years of coaching superstar Michael Phelps can help everyone—especially business leaders—reach peak performance in their chosen fields.

In my conversation with Bowman it became clear that raw talent alone is not enough. Champions like Michael Phelps practice three daily habits to achieve excellence.

A person can be blessed with raw talent (or an eighty-inch wingspan like Michael Phelps), but nobody can achieve excellence without putting in hours and hours of practice.

Meaning comes from the pursuit of more complex things than happiness

A must read.

Is there a difference between a happy life and a meaningful life? How do the happy life and the meaningful life differ?

In a new study, which will be published this year in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Positive Psychology, psychological scientists found that a meaningful life and happy life overlap in certain ways, but are ultimately very different. Leading a happy life is associated with being a "taker" while leading a meaningful life corresponds with being a "giver.

Take this: "Happiness without meaning characterizes a relatively shallow, self-absorbed or even selfish life, in which things go well, needs and desire are easily satisfied, and difficult or taxing entanglements are avoided".
