What Will the LMS of the Future Look Like?

What Will the LMS of the Future Look Like? | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
Have you ever become frustrated with your learning management system (LMS)? If so, you are not alone. They are not as easy to use as other educational technology products; however, they are essential for the classroom. Yet, educators are hopeful that developers are already planning the LMS of the future to be more effective.

As technology evolves and education becomes future ready, the LMS of the future will become more than a helpful administrative tool. The LMS of the future will be a hands-on all-access tool for education.

I expect the next generation of LMSs will be more social and focus much more on enhancing the learner's experience.

Alberto Rivera's curator insight, June 5, 2022 12:37 AM
This article gives me a good idea of how LMS of today are very difficult to use and difficult to manage. It gives good depth on how LMs are designed as a one size fits all type of system they are expected to work for everyone. It also gives you some idea of what the future of an LMS looks like being that they will be more individualized and tailored more to the student than making them one size fits all

#HR The future of work is scalable learning

#HR The future of work is scalable learning | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
It’s a cliché to proclaim that we live and work in an increasingly volatile and unpredictable world. Competition is intensifying, the pace of change is accelerating, and an increased number of disruptions are advancing from nowhere, often totally unexpected. As John Hagel puts it: “We are moving into a world of increasing performance pressure.”

Planning Your Future Is Pointless. The How And Why Of Embracing Uncertainty

Planning Your Future Is Pointless. The How And Why Of Embracing Uncertainty | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

You can’t figure out the future.

Even young people who have a plan (be a doctor, lawyer, research scientist, singer) don’t really know what will happen. If they have any certainty at all, they’re a bit deluded. Life doesn’t go according to plan, and while a few people might do exactly what they set out to do, you never know if you’re one of those. Other things come along to change you, to change your opportunities, to change the world. The jobs of working at Google, Amazon or Twitter, for example, didn’t exist when I was a teenager. Neither did this job.

Wondering what the future holds is a tough question at any age. Instead of trying to figure it all out, get comfortable with the discomfort of uncertainty.

I guess it makes sense to plan for the unexpected, an oxymoron, I guess, but then this is the fact. In many cases, our planning caters to only five to ten percent of what will really take place. This however doesn't that you don't plan! Having a lesson plan ensures that there will be standardized teaching taking place in the class. A Lesson plan is like a road map that a substitute teacher can take up in your place, and he or she can pick up from where you left. But then coming back to planning, I remember how even the elaborate five year plans made by the government under the Socialist Regime in Ethiopia couldn't account for the lack of rains leading to a drought and famine!

Totally agree. The 21st century begs for this skill. The skill to embrace uncertainty and be calm in facing change.

21 Future Jobs the Robots Are Actually Creating

21 Future Jobs the Robots Are Actually Creating | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

According to an Oxford University analysis, close to half of all jobs will be taken over by robots in the next 25 years. No wonder the press is full of handwringing about how workers will adjust and the best way to prepare the next generation for this A.I.-filled future.

But not everyone is alarmed about the prospect of radical change in the labor market. After all, this has happened before (for instance, when mechanization replaced the vast majority of farmers) and it turned out OK. Plus, a lot of today's jobs are soul-crushingly boring and repetitive. Losing them just might be a blessing.

Among these optimists are IT service company Cognizant. In a recent report (hat tip to Business Insider for the pointer), the consultancy notes that while creative destruction has always been with us, so has reinvention. Sure, robots will take jobs away, but they'll also create new ones.

What will these new gigs look like exactly? The report imagines detailed job ads for 21 future careers that Cognizant thinks may emerge in the next 10 years.

Yes, A.I. will destroy tons of jobs, but it will create tons too. Like these.

#HR Coding, Robotics and the Jobs of the Future

#HR Coding, Robotics and the Jobs of the Future | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
Since as early as the 1800’s, fears of robots taking over human jobs has been a reality. As we enter the true age of robotics, those concerns are resurfacing, and educators are unsure about what jobs their students will be competing for. For example, IT jobs will grow by 22% through 2020 and jobs in STEM are said to see similar growth. Educators are expected to equip their students with skills that will translate into careers and yet they have no idea what these skills should be. While timeless skills such as critical thinking, languages and mathematics aid in every career they do not provide the specialized skills that “jobs of the future” may require. So, what are the jobs of the future and how can be best prepare students for them?

What Do All Mentally Tough People Do? By Chris Gaborit

What Do All Mentally Tough People Do? By Chris Gaborit | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

In all of these different contexts, one characteristic emerged as a predictor for success. It wasn't social intelligence, good looks, IQ, or physical health. It was "grit," which the dictionary also defines as "mentally toughness."

Duckworth describes this quality in successful people as "perseverance and passion to achieve long-term goals; having stamina; sticking with your future day in and day out and working hard to make that future a reality; a marathon not a sprint.”

Her studies have shown that there is a correlation between mental toughness and self-control. To achieve those long-term goals there are things mentally tough people avoid. Here are seven of those:
