Luke I Am Your FATHER! Surviving Google via @Curagami

Luke I Am Your FATHER! Surviving Google via @Curagami | Must Market | Scoop.it

Everything Is Harder Suddenly everything online seems harder. Or there may be a slow drip with energy and value leaking out seemingly unrecoverable. Google’s algorithmic haircuts hurt no matter how realization dawns. This post is about how to recover, regain and reposition your website after traffic, conversions and money are dealt an injury by an algorithm change by the Google Gods.

Follow these 5 Easy Steps to Recover:

  • Stop, Wait & Listen.
  • Analytics Deep Dive.
  • Create New KPIs.
  • Back In To Blue Oceans.
  • Create Community.

Possibly "easy" is the wrong word (lol). First STOP whatever you've been doing since "old SEO" tactics don't work anymore. Next figure out where to go that new and start testing. This Curagami post shares several Haiku Decks and explains each of those 5 "Recovery" tips.

How To Get Your Best Customers To Do Your Marketing For You

How To Get Your Best Customers To Do Your Marketing For You | Must Market | Scoop.it

As a small business owner, you’ve got a lot on your plate. With so many different hats to wear, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could get your best customers to do your marketing for you?

If only it were that easy, right?

Via Brian Yanish - MarketingHits.com
Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Our epiphany was realizing the most socially shared and linked to content on our websites and blogs wasn't ours but THEIRS. When customers share content they support it with links from their social nets. This "Friends of Friends" marketing is how your brand breaks through to the other side of the filter bubble.

Filter bubbles, well outlined by Eli Pariser in a TED talk, http://www.ted.com/talks/eli_pariser_beware_online_filter_bubbles?language=en,  make it all but impossible for branded marketing messages to reach their intended audience.

Marketing today must be done by friends of your and friends of theirs where "theirs" are people your brand doesn't know yet. When your brand is introduced thanks to "friends of friends" marketing then trust and conversion aren't far away.

Going in cold is not something that works very often in a socially connected time like this.

Matt Rogers's curator insight, September 14, 2014 11:16 PM

This article presents an interesting five step process for effectively creating brand ambassadors.  The process consists of creating goals, recruiting a small group, creating a community around your product, rewarding the ambassadors, and adjusting it based on what works and doesn't.  Brand ambassadors can be vital to the success of a company and potential superiority over competitors.  Getting customers involved can also create a greater sense of loyalty than just doing business as usual.

Social media marketing is dead - Triangle Business Journal

Social media marketing is dead - Triangle Business Journal | Must Market | Scoop.it
In today’s millennial-inspired economy, social media marketing is dead. I didn’t say social media is dead — just the idea that social media marketing is the most effective approach to win over millennials. Here's how you should react.

Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

At our Startup Factory funded startup Cuagami we agree. In fact we believe all tactical online marketing is dead or dying. What's next? Community, Friends-of-Friends Marketing & Content Curation.

Is Your Website Creating Information Parity or Disparity

Is Your Website Creating Information Parity or Disparity | Must Market | Scoop.it

Conversion Go Up When

Visitors arriving on your website have expectations and not all visitors are equal. Some may be "new" to your content. Others may be learning your content and a small group may be as expert about your site's content as you.

Feed "newbie" content to experts is a sure way to frustrate two people - the expert and the new to your content person who didn't get the content they needed. This post is about MAPPING your content to your visitors needs and expectations.

Why map? Meeting and exceeding your visitors' expectations builds trust and community. Conversions don't happen without TRUST and COMMUNITY.

Secrets For Revolutionaries

Secrets For Revolutionaries | Must Market | Scoop.it

These Days if you are NOT a revolutionary good luck with that. The problem is when everyone is a revolutionary is anyone really ahead of the curve? As many know we are trying to STIR THE POT with 2 new BHAGs:

CureCancerStarter.org - crowdfunding cancer research and let patients, friends and family see behind the curtain.
http://www.CureCancerStarter.org  (launching next week)

CureCancerStore - shop to cure cancer and give 100% profits to help cure the Big C.
http://www.curecancerstore.org

Here are the first 5 "Secrets For Revolutionaries" learned:

* Revolutionaries need a PLAN.
* Revolutionaries need TOOLS.
* Revolutionaries need to compete.
* Revolutionaries need to PLAY.

* Revolutionaries need to be THANKED!

I'm getting the idea. I need to be chief Thank You Note writer more than chief social, code, design guy (lol). Our Cure Cancer Buzz Team is missing a few of those pieces. Some revolutionaries are so GREAT they don't need every one of those features, but most need a STRUCTURE to the revolution, a sense of MEANING and PROGRESS.

Will be working on those ideas in the days and weeks ahead. Please feel free to SHARE your community / revolution building tips and ideas. We are going to need so many AMAZING revolutionaries to help launch these two new ideas you may want to get your beret now :). Thanks, M

Curagami helps form the “Ambassador Layer” every website and brand needs these days. Ambassadors, people who’ve “bought in” to a brand’s mission and want to help, need to be given contextually appropriate “jobs”.

Red Bull's Branding Lessons Redux: We Are All Media Companies Now - Curatti

Red Bull's Branding Lessons Redux: We Are All Media Companies Now - Curatti | Must Market | Scoop.it

We Are All Media Companies Now
Working on how to create community with our new tool (http://www.crowdfunde.com) has me realizing sometimes you write things that don't SUCK and whose meaning becomes more clear as we move forward in time.

Red Bull's Branding Lessons: We Are All Media Companies Now is reading that way. Evergreen content? Not quite yet. We need to think and write some more, but glad to see shares continue to increase as that means we've touch a nerve.

Social shares increasing over time also means as new people come in they find the piece valuable and that is an indication the content's sell by date is still off in the future. I'm thinking on a Red Bull II. If you have suggestions for similar GET IT social or content marketing companies please share in comments or email to martin(at)crowdfunde.com.

Much appreciated and glad to provide attributions and links back once Red Bull Redux is written. Red Bull On. Marty
