KF: Every discussion around the educational use of iPads introduces the question "what about other platforms?". While this report indicates there were some very desireable outcomes there is a strong suggestion that the technology employed was fraught with technical issues:
"Although Android devices have a number of desirable qualities, including a lower cost and an open ecosystem for apps, the relative immaturity of the Android ecosystem prevents us from being able to recommend Android devices for school implementations at this time."

KF: Too little, too late? Will be interesting to see how they approach marketing this. I suspect enterprise deployments may be their most lucrative if they can build belief that this will be a quality addition to a Windows SOE. Sadly, the "Surface" name ressurects memories of their Space Invader tables of a few years ago...
