Merry Moodle 3.2 Year! It’s The Little Things (Upgraded in Moodle Activities)

Merry Moodle 3.2 Year! It’s The Little Things (Upgraded in Moodle Activities) | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it
While shiny features like “Boost”, Competencies, LTI, or the dashing new media player took up our headlines, a lot of effort by true heroes who developed Moodle 3.2 has gone into smaller upgrades. They are improvements to the most popular Moodle activities and may only be noticed through real practice and sadly, chances are not everyone will get to them.

Here’s Why Your Students Deserve Moodle 3.2

I was fascinated when a friend of mine told me about her experience as a young student at a Montessori school. As an award for good behavior, she enjoyed the opportunity of mopping the hall floors. Which she did with a smile on her face.

Montessori shares many pedagogical accords with Moodle. They are based on the basic psychological principles of social reward. This means that, among other things, their enjoyment of new things is determined by how much their peers acknowledge its value.

With Moodle 3.2, the focus more than ever is on promoting an impactful learning intervention where teachers have more control on how students build their own definition of success.

New Messaging and Notifications page coming in #Moodle 3.2 - Moodle World

New Messaging and Notifications page coming in #Moodle 3.2 - Moodle World | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

Moodle 3.2 which is the next stable release of the Moodle and is scheduled to be released in November 2016 will see a lot of new changes like a new Theme and Navigation improvements, a new Graph API etc.

Apart from the other changes, the most notable from a students point of view will be the overhauled Messaging and Notifications page which has not been updated from quite sometime.

The new project is a redesign of the Messaging and Notifications including:

- The messages preferences pages
- The way messages and notifications are displayed to the user in the page (in the header now)
- The pages for managing contacts and conversations
