Dropbox vs. Google Drive vs. OneDrive: Which Cloud Storage Is Best for You?

Dropbox vs. Google Drive vs. OneDrive: Which Cloud Storage Is Best for You? | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

I was a huge cloud storage skeptic when Dropbox debuted a decade ago and popularized the idea for everyday consumers. Of course, back then the world wasn’t so internet-connected as it is today, plus storage limits were much tighter and syncing algorithms weren’t as robust.
Cloud storage has come a long way since, and I freely admit that cloud storage has made my life much better. Not only does it keep all files available to me regardless of which device I’m on, but it also works as a way to keep data backups.

Activating and understanding Google Drive repository in moolde

Activating and understanding Google Drive repository in moolde | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

When I activated the Google drive repository in our moodle 2.6 instance last week, it was not immediately clear to me what we were seeing and how things were behaving.

I had to register the moodle site with Google to activate the GD plugin. This made sense.

It took me two tries to create the definition in Google, I missed the key part about sharing the moodle callback file with the Google definition. This was not conceptually difficult either, I was just lazy and missed the first time.

Once the integration was successful, and I could see the new Google Drive option in my moodle, when browsing for a file.

You can add /install Google Drive to you Microsoft Office with the download plugin for Office. This is a benefit in saving time and keeping them in Microsoft Office formatting instead of transferring it to Google Drive. This can cause some issues when transferring a Microsoft Document to the Google Drive as some feature may not be available and undoing some things within the document. Within the article is a step-by-step process on how it is done.

Making a LOT of Copies of the Same Google Docs

Making a LOT of Copies of the Same Google Docs | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it
Sometimes I have need to make a lot of copies of a document in my Google Drive. For example, I have a template for creating badges in Google Draw. However, I need a lot of badges for my project. Manually duplicating the template 50 times is tedious. I wrote a script to accomplish this faster for me.

How To Create A Google Drive Classroom

How To Create A Google Drive Classroom | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

"Using the cloud in the classroom can be a powerful thing.

One of the most common uses of the cloud in today’s classroom is word processing, and one of the most common cloud-based word processing platforms is Google Drive.

We’ve talked about offering voice feedback to documents. In the above below, teacher Bjorn Behrendt explains how to set up a classroom in Google Drive. He offers dozens of tips to pre-empt the kind of challenges that you’re likely to see (e.g., students unknowingly duplicating the same file several times, not knowing which folder to turn work in to, etc.)..."
