New Quiz Feature in Moodle 2.9: item dependencies

New Quiz Feature in Moodle 2.9: item dependencies | moodle3 | Scoop.it
Tim Hunt has published a quick discussion on a new feature coming to Moodle 2.9 which provides additional settings to control how quizzes display their questions to students. The particular settings help to limit visibility to quiz items until a student has met the criteria (kind of like a conditional release of questions within a quiz).

The dependencies are set up to prevent a student from seeing a question which might include context for an earlier item they need to answer.

You can check out this feature and the other cool features we covered recently [features in 2.9] soon in the upcoming release.

Read more about the dependency settings for quizzes at https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=310239#p1241781 and at https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-40990.

Moodle Activity Module: Dynamic Game design

Moodle activity module to create dynamic games based on the question bank.

Students procastinating too much? Are they playing games instead of studying? Well now you can motivate them by allowing them to do both at once!

Quizventure is an activity module that loads quiz questions from the course it's added to. The possible answers come down as space ships and you have to shoot the correct one.

Moodle Quiz Usability Features and Improvements considered in the Tracker

Moodle Quiz Usability Features and Improvements considered in the Tracker | moodle3 | Scoop.it

Tim Hunt‘s posted a great synopsis of a few usability changes to the Quiz module in the Moodle Forums and now is asking for feedback (votes) through either the forum or the tracker for those who are interested. The improvements aim to remove some of the interstitial clicks required to start a quiz, to make relevant information (whether the quiz has a password, time limit, limited attempts) earlier in the work flow and overall to remove some of the extra clicking that’s required to navigate to start, within, and once a student has completed a quiz.

There are 7 total UI tweaks part of the Epic tracking improvements. You can find a link to them all and see their progress here: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-46090.

I've just used the Quiz module for parts of my computer skills exam paper. Works like  a dream!
