Nothing 'Drowsy' in this love letter to Broadway musicals - OCRegister | music-all | Scoop.it
With a 1998 debut in Toronto, "The Drowsy Chaperone" is an ingenious show-within-a-show about a fictional 1928 Broadway musical that comes to life in the mind of a fan of musical theater. Christopher Spencer stars in Theatre Out's staging as "The Man in the Chair," the devotee of, and expert on, the vintage show. The show premiered in the U.S. in Los Angeles in 2005 and went to Broadway a year later.
