Frozen is coming! Frozen is coming! While the Broadway adaptationof the Disney blockbuster can’t come soon enough for those of who us who aren't bothered by the cold, Mickey and his crew are hard at work bringing Arendelle to the stage. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Disney Theatrical president Thomas Schumacher revealed, “I’m already talking to directors, and I have a design concept, and we have to begin to fashion this idea.”

Composer Stephen Sondheim caused a stir in the Broadway community by suggesting that Disney was making major changes to Into The Woods to bring it to the big screen. While reports of his conversation seemed to insinuate that he was not happy with the changes, Sondheim said that this was not the case.

We’ll have to wait until next January for Rob Marshall’s film of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s fairytale-twisting musical Into The Woods. But, judging by comments Sondheim made to high school drama teachers recently, fans of the show might want to gird their loins for some changes to the plot.

Twenty years ago this month, Disney said "Open Sesame" to Times Square and Broadway, and Times Square and Broadway opened the sooty doors of the Palace Theater to Beauty and the Beast. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Disney's first Broadway musical opened April 18, 1994. It ran for 13 years.
