Facebook : Social Media's version of a Wrecking Ball.
Ever since the launch of Facebook, the social powerhouse website has destroyed barriers of all kinds.
This clipping is bang on in regards to the "LIKE" gate. My view would be the same as the majority of others that have posted their reviews: I agree 100% in destroying that feature.
When a company sends out their promotions through any social media site, they would be looking for an honest response, not some half whit "LIKE" just for someone else to advance on a game or gain a prize.
This article shows that the companies want to be recognized for their hard work, not just because their an ad on a mass website. The organizations want a real response, not a forced like. So I say its time to " unleash the Kracken " and let Facebook wipe away all the strings holding back those app developers and have a less cluttered website.

"One of the many undying questions from web publishers, marketers, and regular web users is "what makes something go viral?" which, coincidentally, is also something Microsoft is working on.
Today the company revealed a new research project called ViralSearch that uses a search engine to identify the most popular content on Twitter.
ViralSearch scans billions of pieces of information, including news, photos, and video, and assigns a virality rating to the most popular topics based on how the content was shared via Twitter".
Looks cool and surprise from Microsoft.
