Nowadays, we find that videos are used, and indeed useful, for many purposes, like for instance, marketing, propaganda, music, among others. But what concerns us is to know that videos have taken a very important role in education. We use videos to present a class, to engage students, to give examples, to give information, to entertain students, as listening activities, etc. Therefore, I consider that this article is very helpful since sometimes it becomes hard to find background music for the videos we create. This article establishes how important videos have became last years, and then, it presents 10 recommendable web sites to get background music for our videos.

Zelf gebruik ik een Zoom LiveTrak L8, maar op de IBC 2022 zag ik dat Tascam met een inhaalslag bezig is op het gebied van mobiele recorders voor podcasts. De Zoom heb ik gekocht na een afweging over de andere optie die er is, de Rodecaster Pro. Ten tijde van mijn keuze hoorde ik daar van professionals geen goede verhalen over bij dagelijks gebruik. Maar het scherm en het design waren wel mooi, maar er was gedoe met hardware (kapotte schuiven) en software (stroom van updates).

Met de Tascam Mixcast lijken beide problemen te zijn verholpen.

Onlangs heb ik Auphonic geprobeerd en dat pakte goed uit. Hoewel mijn opname natuurlijk prima was :-) gaf Auphonic er een warme tint aan met minder harde s-klank. Met een gratis account kun je dus maandelijks twee uur audio oppoetsen, bijvoorbeeld een gesprek dat je met je telefoon hebt opgenomen. Nice!

Serial is een sterk staaltje audio storytelling, gebaseerd op het werk van This American Life verslaggever Sarah Koenig. In 1999 onderzocht zij de moord op een high-school studente in Baltimore County.

Intussen zijn er meer dan 5 miljoen downloads van deze podcast verwerkt via iTunes. Het experiment om het verhaal niet in gewone documentaire vorm, maar als een feuilleton is dus ongelofelijk succes.

"Generally good post! I have some disagreements over the methodology of examining what other podcasters do and cite that as steps for success.

The Snowball is actually a generally poor choice for starting out. It locks you into a USB workflow and you have to throw away the mic when you get professional gear. It also gives inferior audio quality to better mics in the same price range—like the Audio Technica ATR2100-USB or AT2005USB.

I was a little disappointed to see none of the podcasting experts cited or recommended—Dave Jackson, Ray Ortega, Cliff Ravenscraft, or myself (Daniel J. Lewis).

Transcripts aren't the right way to go. Humans (and search engines) want quality content and a transcript is usually not quality content because it wastes so much time with the dialog. The best kinds of show notes for humans and SEO are concise and written like a blog post. Humans love it, Google loves it, and you make your content far more accessible to readers."

In korte tijd heeft Brian Clark met het Copyblogger team een hele serie podcasts gelanceerd. Met behartenswaardige verhalen over digitale marketing, storytelling en copywriting. Rainmaker is natuurlijk ook een prachtige naam als je je expertise met gezag wilt delen. Willen we niet allemaal de kunst beheersen om 'de regen' te kunnen oproepen? (Tip: lees ook het prozagedicht van Franz Kafka: 'Het verlangen Indiaan te worden'.)

In Amerika kijken kleinere en lokale kranten of online radio hun positie en bereik kan verbeteren. Het aantal mensen dat in de auto via hun smart phone naar radio luisteren groeit. Ook ontstaan nieuwe manieren van adverteren en sponsormogelijkheden.
