When Apple quietly turned on carrier billing in iTunes in Germany last month, we said emerging markets could be the company's biggest opportunity and target..

Vimplecom which owns Beeline has enabled carrier billing for Apple iTunes in Russia post roll-out of similar carrier billing in Germany last month. Beeline has presence in few emerging markets including countries in Africa and Asia! Russia is the biggest internet market in Europe and while digital downloads from legal sites is less than the norm, it will be interesting to see data for iTunes purchases!
