Alibaba has invested $200 million in U.S.-based Snapchat, according to a person familiar with the transaction, in its latest venture into social media.

Interesting to see both Alibaba and Tencent with investments in Snapchat with both companies having chat capabilities in China and also AliPay and TenPay for mobile payments! For Snapchat this will likely be a foray to move to China market, likely get integrated with WeChat and Laiwang or have China payment capabilities included in Snapchat.
