The Blues Jam Session by Peter Morales complete package free download (pdf files & videos). The blues stretches back to the original musical passions of country heroes like Charley Patterson, Son House, and Robert Johnson. With the forging of the first electric guitars, stars like Muddy Waters, Albert King, and at long last Blues Rock Titan Joe Bonamassa were finally able to arrive. Joe is a protector of the blues and all that it stands for, fighting off the dark forces of mainstream pop music. Bass and drums, sax and trumpet, vocals and keys, and most of all guitar come together… all to play the blues.. Album Du Jour: "New Orleans Heat" by Albert King. This Mississippi giant of a man was one of the great blues guitarists who loved to play the Gibson Flying V. I came across his music in the late '60's during the time when I was infatuated with Stax Records. This album was released in 1978, was recorded in New Orleans and produced by Allan Toussaint. It's a mix of new songs and re-recordings of some old material that included his hit "Born Under A Bad Sign". Albert's vocals are as smooth as ever, but his razor sharp guitar is somewhat subdued. It's an interesting listen as he fits into a more commercial pocket with these funky players in these arrangements. Some cool tracks are "Angel Of Mercy", "Flat Tire", and "The Very Thought Of You". It's not The Meters backing Albert, but it's still a fine album to check out.
