This is a short article on the ways that teachers' roles are changing. It is important to note that teachers are not becoming obsolete, but are just as important as ever. Teachers are here to facilitate learning and assisting the students in becoming resilient, self directed and capable learners.

These are the types of changes in the teacher's role that are fundamental to developing students who are capable of independent learning and reinvention in a rapidly changing world.

We can observe a significant change in the teacher's role. Nowadays, students are more independent in the learning process, and due to the pandemic situation, students are forced to create new study habits to learn by themselves. However, the teacher still plays a fundamental role in classes and provides different tools to help students improve while learning.

Connectivism is one of my favorite learning theory to use in the classroom. As a Career and Technology teacher we use technology and connectivity theory allows the students to discuss to various platforms to discuss and find answers on their own. With this infographic it explain the different learning theories and connectivism, a theory that at least you have to try to implement for student engagement.

As lifelong learners we need to model what good PLCs look like, and be transparent with our students. For example, when I use an app in class for the first time I will tell my students he source of the find, which is almost inevitably my PLC. I then follow it up with something like, "You already have a PLC, your study group. Regardless of your profession, seek out peers and coaches to make you better."

SCOOPS -- I began using Scoop when I was defining myself a LITE FEET DANCER. There was no single source of info about Lite Feet dance, a NYC Born Battle dance phenom and YouTube Sensation. I created LITE FEET SCOOP TO reference for my own resume but also to provide anyone interested a link to the multitude of YOUTUBE Channels, Sound Cloud and personal sites dedicated to this unique art form and the talented dancers who participate.

Blended learning has much potential. However, it is only PART of the solution to why ails education today. It is not a replacement for funding. Adequate funding, whether online of f2f, must go hand in hand. You can't maximize the potential of education while cutting necessary $$$.

It's so easy to become overwhelmed by the number of tools and their uses. It's good to have a list of available features. But remember: each site needs to be evaluated for accessibility and privacy issues, too.
