San Francisco's board of supervisors voted to officially legalize Airbnb in the city after wrangling over details and amendments for two years. The 7-4 vote approving the law is the culmination of a hard fight by Airbnb and president of the board of supervisors David Chiu, who led the push for the law. The final version of the law represents a lot of compromise on the part of the city and Airbnb, aptly shown by the many proposed amendments, some of which did not make it into the final form of the bill.
