Many of us have started our breaks. If you have a website, blog, virtual learning site or messaging system like Remind to connect with your learners then you can motivate your students to continue the learning with photo and video challenges. Learners of all ages love taking pictures and videos, especially with their mobile devices. Students are surrounded by science, math, geography, history, and literacy. Often, they just need to be challenged to take a closer look, investigate their surroundings, capture their learning, and present it to others. For any subject you can send your students on learning missions and challenges to capture the learning around them and demonstrate to others what they have learned!

Getting Creative With Video in the Classroom @JonathanWylie

While watching the Oscars tonight, I was intrigued to see a promotion that Walmart was running to celebrate the craft of film making. I don’t normally pay a lot of attention to  commercials, but these ads managed to catch my attention, and I think that they have some interesting potential for teachers who are looking to add some creativity to video projects in their classroom.

Walmart contacted four award-winning directors, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Neighbors), Antoine Fuqua (Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven), and Marc Forster (Monster’s Ball, The Kite Runner). You can learn more here, but take a look at the videos below to see what these talented directors came up with…

A NEW Fun and Easy Way to Create Videos in the Classroom! – Kleinspiration

A NEW Fun and Easy Way to Create Videos in the Classroom! – Kleinspiration | Professional Learning for Busy Educators | Scoop.it
I’ve spent a good part of my time in the classroom before Spring Break making videos with my students using MySimpleShow, a new way to creatively craft content into brief, engaging videos.

I must admit… now that I’m on Spring Break, much of my time has still been devoted to putting together videos sharing parts of our vacation and watching my own children’s videos.  Once you start, you’ll see how quick and easy it is to do.  Oh… I almost forgot one of the best parts.  Not only is MySimpleShow easy to use, it’s free too!
