Morning newspaper round-up: Assessing China's performance as the London 2012 Olympic Games close.

Plenty of references in Chinese national papers to 'fair play' and 'fair refereeing'. Don't think badminton nor poor Liu Xiang will be quickly forgotten.

Sport is suppose to be pure competition between human being, based on the individual merits and talents of men and women. That is why we have referees and rules : As a rule of nature, in sport we are not all equal.

That is also why the debate around performance enhancing drugs and technological and scientific advancements in this domain are so controversial:  technology and sport go hand in hand yet they hinder sport as a competition.  Using performance enhancing technology surely means that everybody and everybody would be able to win? probably he or she who has the most money and/or sponsorship!

Where should we draw the line, and can we draw the line in the face of ever-advancing technology an innovation?

This article suggests that its up to sportsmen and sportswomen as well as spectators to know when to say stop.

Blown Away! Greatest Day Of Sport For Britain

Blown Away! Greatest Day Of Sport For Britain | Results London 2012 Olympics | Scoop.it
Euphoric Britain glories in winning six Olympic gold medals in a day – and there are hopes for even more victories today.

All Olympic sports from now on should require either a bike or a boat.

Sure, OK, a couple of exceptions to the rule to make it fair play:

the long jump, heptathlon and men's 10,000m for example.

And a race including each of the above sports.

Team GB top of medal table hands down!
