Augmented reality is an amazing new technology for learning developers. Although the ability to access AR from mobile devices makes the barrier of entry to use AR low, as developers it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Understanding when to use AR, how to design quality AR experiences, and generating organizational buy-in are difficult hurdles to adoption.
I recently interviewed Destery Hildenbrand, a senior instructional designer with GP Strategies, about overcoming these hurdles.
Augmented reality can help you create new and interesting e-Learning courses.
En esta entrevista de Bill Brandon (@billbrandon) a Destery Hildenbrand, diseñadora instruccional, nos acercamos a cuándo y cómo usar la realidad aumentada para generar experiencias de aprendizaje de calidad.
Muy interesante.

ePedagogy might broadly be defined as ‘learning design that incorporates educational quality, values and effectiveness of teaching, learning and assessment activities supported by technology’. On the one hand, one might argue against a separation of ‘e’ pedagogy from any other pedagogy. On the other hand, research and evaluation literature suggests that new modes of teaching and learning are emerging through the use of online networks, access to remote experts and, more recently, mobile technologies. This article outlines trends in thinking in learning and teaching at Warwick and presents a number of issues, presuppositions and questions about appropriate pedagogies for developing e-learning at Warwick.
Using a “review and respond” approach to a draft of this article, a number of staff across the University were asked for their views on the issues of appropriate pedagogical models for developing e-learning at Warwick. Their comments are presented alongside the questions posed in the article.

Evaluating eLearning is often a one-and-done process, typically at the end of a learning experience. But factoring in data collected throughout the learning process can turn eLearning evaluation into an ongoing process integrated into every step, from planning and design, through the entire learner experience, making feedback and revision integral parts of the cycle.
In her comprehensive report on the emerging field of learning engineering, Ellen Wagner suggested looking at “continual enterprise feedback and revision” as a way to think about evaluation. “Learning and training outcomes are as much a part of formative inputs for the next round of learning experiences, as are materials, platforms, and conditions for performance evaluation, learner evaluation, instructor evaluation, and institutional evaluation,” she wrote.
Continuous feedback in e-learning is going to change the way we evaluate learners

Off-campus learning is quickly increasing in importance these days. This gives everyone the possibility of getting the needed degrees to get the desired job, no matter the work that is needed to afford education in the first place. However, many do not understand exactly how online learning and technology are impacting the future.
How online learning and digital learning will change our future and force universities and academic institutions to adapt.

Blended learning has proven itself as not only a teaching strategy that allows greater flexibility, but one that is more effective than traditional methods.
Blended learning - the mix of traditional and digital learning - is quite popular in the classroom, much more than e-learning. New studies show that it is also more effective than traditional on site classroom teaching if the right pedagogy is used.
