What should have been a straightforward opening match for Ana Ivanovic became a huge tussle, before the 2008 Roland Garros champion surged back to beat Petra Martic 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 on Philippe Chatrier Court. Martic, the world No.107, threatened to take control of the match but could not sustain the form which took her to the fourth round last year.
