The development of a new botnet that will rely on a decentralized architecture based on P2P technology is nearing completion and will soon be offered for sale for a sum of $8000 on a number of underground hacking forums, reports The Hacker News.

While Microsoft and Kaspersky Labs announced big botnet takedowns this week, the latest generation of Zeus botnet tools are making it easier for bot-herders to hide their trails.

"A key feature of the ZeroAccess botnet is its use of a peer-to-peer C&C communications architecture, which gives the botnet a high degree of availability and redundancy," the researchers explained in a blog post.
