The movie, which is due to be released in the United States and Canada on Dec. 25, is a comedy about two journalists recruited by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The Pyongyang government denounced the film as "undisguised sponsoring of terrorism, as well as an ===> act of war" <=== in a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in June.

The technical section of the FBI report said some of the software used by the hackers had been compiled in Korean, but it did not discuss any possible connection to North Korea.

Leaked documents indicate that the NSA was in North Korean systems but didn't warn Sony about the attack, covertly uses innocent victims’ infected PCs when hijacking botnets, as well as secretly redirecting blame to scapegoats and tapping into 'unwitting data mules' to pass along exfiltrated information.

We may finally know why the US was soconfident about identifying North Korea's hand in the Sony attack: it turns out the NSA had front-row seats to the cyber carnage, having infiltrated computers and networks of the country's hackers years ago.

According to the New York Times, a recently released top-secret document traces the NSA's infiltration back to 2010, when it piggybacked on South Korean "implants" on North Korea's networks and "sucked back the data".

An investigation into the massive breach at Sony has implicated at least six individuals as being part of a group that worked to compromise the company’s networks, including at least one ex-employee who had the technical background and system knowledge to quietly... 

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has warned that hackers have used malware to launch destructive attacks against businesses in the United States, following a devastating attack on the networks of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

In a five-page confidential "flash" warning sent to businesses late on Monday and seen by Reuters, the FBI provided technical details about the malware, but did not mention the corporate victim by name. According to the advisory notice, the malware is particularly violent — over-writing data on hard drives to make them little more than bricks while also closing down networks at the same time.
