The advent of eHospital software represents a remarkable leap in medical education, offering students an immersive virtual environment to hone critical skills and prepare for careers in healthcare. Its impact, which proved invaluable during the pandemic, is poised to persist beyond in-person classes' resumption.  This innovative approach not only bridges the gap between theory and practice but also highlights the transformative potential of technology in medical education.

Evaluating Healthcare Simulation

This website was created to provide healthcare simulation educators and researchers with freely available instruments we have developed for evaluating different aspects of simulation-based education (SBE). We believe that it is imperative to go well beyond satisfaction and confidence when evaluating SBE as pedagogy. It is equally important that we use instruments with established reliability and validity when evaluating outcomes.

Our work, and that of other simulation researchers, has led to five instruments that have been found useful for those working in education and clinical environments. Click on the links below or the tabs above to learn more about each instrument--why it was developed, reliability and validity, and suggestions for how to best use the instruments. We believe these instruments should be freely available and you can access them though the Obtain Instrument page.
