Twitter Itself Will Soon Decide the Value of Your Tweets

Twitter Itself Will Soon Decide the Value of Your Tweets | Social Media and its influence | Scoop.it
Twitter will soon attach value ratings to users' tweets. Here's why.

The value judgements will be assigned to the public metadata of tweeters' posts, and used by Twitter's streaming API to help developers more selectively curate massive amounts of status updates.

===> Designations of "none," "low" and "medium" will most likely debut on Feb. 20, according to a post by developer advocate Arne Roomann-Kurrik on the Twitter developers' blog. A "high" value option will be rolled out sometime after the initial batch. <===

The demise of quality content on the web

The demise of quality content on the web | Social Media and its influence | Scoop.it

This a great blog post from Rian van der Merwe , describing the noise you can find on the web now, and especially content just created for SEO purposes or advertisers. As many, Rian is tired of it.

"I used to believe that if you write with passion and clarity about a topic you know well (or want to know more about), you will find and build an audience. I believed that maybe, if you’re smart about it, you could find a way for some part of that audience to pay you money to sustain whatever obsession drove you to self-publishing"

Gust MEES: What about displaying in your name here also when You "rescoop" this scoop? Thanks in advance ;)
