Wer ist wo auf dem Musikfestival oder beim Shoppen? Das können Nutzer von Whatsapp nun kontinuierlich live verfolgen. Der Hersteller sagt, dass der Datenschutz dabei gewährleistet sei.
Der zu Facebook gehörende Kurzmitteilungsdienst Whatsapp gibt Nutzern die Möglichkeit, ihre Aufenthaltsorte für bis zu acht Stunden miteinander zu teilen.

 

Dabei seien die Ortsdaten komplett verschlüsselt und nur für die teilnehmenden Nutzer sichtbar, betonte Whatsapp-Manager Zafir Khan zum Start der Funktion am 18. Oktober 2017. Auch Whatsapp selbst oder Facebook hätten keinen Zugriff darauf.
