In an urgent talk, she describes the emerging danger of stalkerware -- software designed to spy on someone by gaining access to their devices without their knowledge -- and calls on antivirus companies to recognize these programs as malicious in order to discourage abusers and protect victims.

Realizing your PC is infected with a virus is a horrible experience, but it doesn't compare to the panic a ransomware attack can cause. Your PC is locked down, no files can be accessed, and a countdown timer appears demanding you pay to unlock everything before deletion becomes permanent. For consumers, there's protection available that can help prevent ransomware taking control of your PC. But for business users, Blackberry is taking things a step further by offering to reverse the effects of ransomware if it infiltrates one or more user accounts |

With everyone working from home now. Hackers have taken advantage of this and are attacking more computers. When was the last time you updated your anti-virus, security settings or even updated your computer?

Many businesses are in danger of hackers since many people are forced to work from home. Most major companies have security firewalls and measures set in place in the local intranet to add some security. Many peoples home office commuter does not provide the necessary protection from these threats. The information that is being accessed can vary greatly in its importance and sensitivity. Hackers know this and businesses that take payment over the internet are left vulnerable to attack and can potentially leave their customers as a victim.

Encryption takes data like a text message or email and converts it into code to prevent viewers other than the desired recipient from seeing the original message. It's gotten companies like Apple and Facebook in hot water with the U.S. government for prohibiting the government from accessing that data.
