Spotify is attempting to replace the typical standard record labels role in the music industry. Streaming takes up a massive majority of the revenues of the music industry, Spotify allows artists to promote themselves independently or allow labels to utilize the platform for them. Utilizing the largest streaming platform in the world could be a massive gold rush for independent artists and record labels.

I like the idea of having an Apple music streaming service to use on my iphone. Although, I don't know how good it would be while not using it from an Apple device.

I feel like technology helps out more with the artist being independent. Instead of depending on the Recording labels sometimes labels don’t always treat Artists right. Now the technology allows Artist to gain more control of their music, They can now cut out the middleman.

I believe that technology has improved music in two ways, in the accessibility of making music and the accessibility of hearing music. Those who have always had dreams of making music can start this second with the many DAW programs which have been made. Also, I can listen to any song I want by just searching it up on sound cloud or youtube or many other streaming services.

Nicholas Kitonyi, the author, talks about the evolution of music due to technology. I think that this article is a well-written article that outlines how to best take advantage of all the changes that the music industry has taken on. Kitonyi talks about how easy it is to download or buy music and talks about the impact of physical copies of the artist's music. This resource looks like an extremely reliable source due to the fact to access the full content or other content requires a paid subscription to the website. If professionals in the industry had access to this content, it would be extremely beneficial to them as it would guide recording engineers and mastering engineers alongside with labels on what type of media they should release music on.

I understand that their is a difference between streaming and downloads. I also feel that spotify should charge more to suscribe to pay the artists what they deserve.

Downloads was basically my life. If a new song was released, I was buying it.

Attending concerts during the pandemic is changing. As you enter into the gates you would have to get your temperature checked, be wearing a mask, and as you enter the concert site you would need to be 6 feet apart from the other people.

The picture shown above is an assumption of what most of us thought would be what a live concert would look like in 2021. It was assumed that there would be social distancing and limited occupancy requirements, and more than half way through the year and many concerts later we can see that this was not the future.
