Mark has found that Twitter users are more brand-loyal than Facebook or YouTube users. Thus Twitter offers an opportunity. Businesses just need to rediscover what Twitter has to offer and make a consistent effort to succeed there.
While Mark and I agree that Facebook is the center of all social media, Mark says businesses need to look at their social media marketing on a case-by-case basis. Twitter might have some advantages for small- to medium-sized regional businesses because it can help them tune into local conversations.

Twitter is at the very center of news, keeping people informed about what’s happening in real-time. A vital part of that is in discovering and reading news articles from the timeline. To optimize this experience, we support AMP — Accelerated Mobile Pages — in our mobile clients on iOS, Android and on the web. This HTML-based technology provides building blocks for publishing highly responsive, fast-loading, bandwidth-efficient web pages. Many publishers and content management systems have adopted this technology, and we've supported embedding of Tweets inside AMP articles since its launch.

PROMOTE THE RIGHT KEYWORDS
There is no better way to reach a large audience than with white hat SEO practices and strategies. The most important thing for your online marketing is choosing the right keywords. If you use them in your tweets you can easily be ahead of competitions since they will give relevance to your posts. But it’s crucial that you include them in your tweets so they appeal to the audience and do not leave any negative effects. Carefully prepared posts can have a noteworthy impact on the followers if the content is well-thought out and meaningful.
ALWAYS USE HASHTAGS
You’ve probably noticed people using hashtags on social media in abundance. This practice actually started on Twitter, even though the origins of hashtags date back to 1978. Incorporating them in your posts is like using metadata. If you pair them with the right keywords, you’ll get more desirable SEO effects. Use them in every tweet and as much as possible so you can be as high as possible in the search result list. However, keep in mind that they have to be meaningful and connected to what you’re posting, and also that you have to fit them in a 140-characters long message.

The days of Twitter Inc limiting messages to 140 characters, a signature of the social network since its launch in 2006, may be numbered.
Twitter said on Tuesday that it would begin a test with a random sample of users allowing them to send tweets that are as long, at 280 characters, double the existing cap, in most languages around the world.

The problem is not so much monetization, but rather user growth.
Losing Twitter would negatively affect how brands are able to interact with their customers.
I’m hopeful a media company will acquire Twitter and introduce innovation.
Twitter stock will continue to slide and the company will get gobbled up by one of the Big 6 major media conglomerates. It’s too enmeshed in our culture to just shut down without being snapped up.
Worst case scenario, some media or tech company buys them for the impressions and user base alone.

Today Twitter launched a new way for advertisers to boost their chat experience with Promoted Tweets. Direct Message Cards allow brands to reach users and start an experience with a bot in their Twitter feed.
“Using a Direct Message Card, businesses can capture people’s attention with engaging image or video creatives, and include up to four fully customizable call-to-action buttons,” Twitter product manager Travis Lull wrote in a blog post today unveiling the new cards.

Twitter has “kicked around” the idea of creating a special premium or subscription membership service, and isn’t taking that business model off the table.
That’s according to CEO Jack Dorsey, who spoke to Twitter investors Monday at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in San Francisco. Dorsey was asked if Twitter would consider a Twitter membership model that would presumably include access to special features or services.
Dorsey said yeah, this is an idea the company has considered in the past and that it’s something it would consider in the future, too.

Post Intelligence analyzes your tweets (if you’ve got any to analyze) through deep learning artificial intelligence. Over time it recognizes your tone, quirks and suggests topics and themes to tweet about.
Aside from content suggestions, Post Intelligence offers personalized trending topics, post engagement prediction, historical reports, sentiment graphing and engagement analysis. All things that new Twitter users don’t care about on the surface, but desperately need. What they do care about is finding a reason to use Twitter, or any social network for that reason. Every day brings new users and every day in the world of social is more overwhelming than the last.
The app not only analyzes real-time data from Twitter but it looks at content associated with URLs in public social media posts, Wikipedia and real-time Wikipedia traffic data using word embedding. It then slaps on a proprietary algorithm to solve the jumble and then constructs a current and comprehensive entity model. What does all this mean? It does a bunch of things in the background and tells you what to tweet about based on what’s hopping.
