Free Technology for Teachers: Three Ways to Develop Programming Skills This Summer

Free Technology for Teachers: Three Ways to Develop Programming Skills This Summer | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it
Summer is almost here and it's a great time to learn a new skill that you can bring into your classroom next fall. One of the skills that seems to be mentioned in almost every education periodical these days is programming or coding. Learning to program isn't as difficult as you might think that is. Each of the following services make it relatively easy to learn to program your own apps. As you learn to program your own app, you'll start to see how your students can do the same and use those skills in your classroom next fall.

Creating the Tech Leaders of Tomorrow: How to Inspire Your Students to Lead in the Digital Age by MATTHEW LYNCH

Creating the Tech Leaders of Tomorrow: How to Inspire Your Students to Lead in the Digital Age by MATTHEW LYNCH | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it
There’s no denying that the digital age has transformed education. However, education in this time of technological transformation needs to extend beyond the question of “How can we incorporate technology and digital tools into the classroom?” and into the realm of “How can we better prepare today’s students to be leaders in technology tomorrow?” Successfully preparing students to become future technology leaders requires a good deal more than simply equipping students to go off to college to study engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another technology-related field. It requires fostering curiosity, collaborative skills, and a willingness to try — and fail …

Innovative suggestions for opening up the technology use in classrooms.
Natalia Jimenez's curator insight, April 6, 2018 10:30 AM
There is clear evidence that technology has changed the world where we are today. For that reason, the importance of including technological tools in the classrooms has increased considerably. Moreover, it is important to say that students need more than just know and use these technological tools; they need to develop some skills such as collaboration, willingness to try and fail among others in order to become the the leaders in technology of the future. Also, one of the main purpose of the teachers is to foster curiosity in their learners and inspire them to participate in the digital era.

This article contains very important information for my future work as a teacher since it shows me how I can inspire my students to take an active participation not only in their learning process but also in the digital era in which they can share different knowledge and also, they can receive feedback about their work. Now, I am aware that including digital tools in my classes is not enough; I need to find ways to encourage my students to be future digital leaders.

Future Of Work: The 5 Biggest Workplace Trends In 2022

Future Of Work: The 5 Biggest Workplace Trends In 2022 | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it
Much has been written about the huge changes in our working lives during the past two years – driven of course by necessity and concerns for safety. In 2022, the pandemic is very much still a fact of life for many of us. However, it’s fair to say that we’ve learned to adapt to new behavioral patterns and expectations as we do our jobs. If we are among the millions of “knowledge workers” who find ourselves with more freedom to choose when and where we work, then hopefully, we are making the most of the opportunity to strike a better balance between home and working life.
