Search, Collect, Sync and Publish Your Favorite Tracks and Videos Into Shareable Playlists with OnePlaylist.fm

Search, Collect, Sync and Publish Your Favorite Tracks and Videos Into Shareable Playlists with OnePlaylist.fm | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it

Robin Good's curator insight, August 6, 2013 5:12 AM

OnePlaylist.fm is a new web app which allows you to search YouTube videos and the full Spotify catalog for music tracks and video clips and to collect your preferred ones into shareable playists.

You can also import existing playlists straight from YouTube and Spotify. Not only. Once you have created a playlist, you can synch it with your account on YouTube, Spotify, Rdio, Deezer and many other music services.

Newly created playlists can be set to private or public. Public playlists can be shared on social media, embedded on other web sites, and are always published to a dedicated playlist web page that integrates a video player, all the clips in the playlist, related playlists, and a public analytics chart showing views and Facebook shares for that specific playlist.

The service is powered by Spotify.

My comment: Excellent video and music playlist maker. Powerful and speedy search function makes it easy to find any video or track and to arrange it into a publishable playlist. Excellent solution to create/curate valuable, unique and immediately useful content for your audience.

Free to use.

Create a Curated Video Fan Site with Miro Community

Create a Curated Video Fan Site with Miro Community | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it

Robin Good: MiroCommunity is a video publishing and curation platform which allows you to create a video web site where you aggregate and publish any number of video clips (up to 500 for free) while being able to sort and organizing them in several ways.

MiroCommunity allows you to import video clips into your dedicated video site (xxxxx.mirocommunity.org) by either providing a specific URL or by inputing a YouTube specific username URL, or video RSS feed.

The Premium version allows you to map the newly created site to your own domain and to add a lot more clips.

Outside of some minor issues with the interface organization, small bugs and the non-existent support infrastructure (you can write but nobody answers) this is a super-solution, like no other, to create a compelling and professional looking video site on just about any topic you want.

I would highly recommend it.

Key benefits:

-> Works with your existing video hosting setup and workflow - no need to re-post videos.

-> Lets you bring together videos from a wide-variety of hosts and sources, into one curated experience.

-> Automatically imports and publishes RSS feeds of videos from any source.

- > Generates multiple RSS feeds for your curated sections and categories

-> Provides for the easy creation of video playslists

-> Runs on open-source software.

Here is a sample video site I have created in less than 30 mins: http://robin-good.mirocommunity.org/ ;

Free to use.

Video Curation: Auto-Create YouTube Video Playlists with Integrated Thumbnails

Video Curation: Auto-Create YouTube Video Playlists with Integrated Thumbnails | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it

Robin Good: YouTube has released new functionality that allows you to create an embeddable video playlist on any topic, or user ID while integrating thumbnails for all clips included.

Here is an example. Go to: http://www.youtube.com/embed/?listType=user_uploads&list=RobinGood&showinfo=1 and see an automatically created playlist of all my uploaded video clips.

And if you pass also the parameter, "showinfo=1", when creating the player, the list of video thumbnails will be permanently visible by clicking in the playlist icon appearing on the bottom right of the YouTube player.

If you want to embed such a playlist use this syntax:

**<iframe width="560" height="315"
src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/?listType=user_uploads&amp;list=RobinGood&amp;showinfo=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>***

and replace "RobinGood" with any YouTube user id.

Alternatively, replace listType=user with listType=search or listType=user_uploads to get specific terms searched and aggregated or to showcase all the uploads of a certain YouTube user.

Here is another example: http://www.youtube.com/embed/?listType=search&amp;list=news%20curation&amp;showinfo=1&nbsp;- here I have changed the listType to "search" and have used as query terms "news curation". Check the result.

A Curated Video Site Focusing Only on Educating Entrepreneurs: CoFounder TV | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it

Robin Good: Here is a good example of video curation at work. CoFounder.tv is a video web site curating only the best and most inspiring entrepreneurship video clips. From startuppers, to investors and VCs, the growing collection strives to bring together a variety of viewpoints from those who have been there.

The curated video site is maintained by Rony El-Nashar, a VC at Dubai based SeedStartup, a startup accelerator and seed venture fund that invests in early-stage startups from all around the world.

He writes: "My goal with Cofounder TV is to build a resource that educates and inspires entrepreneurs globally."

Right on track. A pioneering example of what you are going to see in place of blogs soon. 9/10

Curate Your Own Video Channels and Mixtapes With DragOnTape

Curate Your Own Video Channels and Mixtapes With DragOnTape | Daily Magazine | Scoop.it

Robin Good: DragOnTape is a great video curation tool designed for music fans who want to put together mixtapes to watch back on their mobiles, or that can be played at parties and events in a full-screen, back-to-back fashion.

DragOnTape which works both on the desktop and on your iPhone, allows you to easily search for any YouTube video / video mentioned on Twitter / Soundcloud clip and then to add it to your video-mixtape-collection.

You can drag and drop video clips on a timeline, move their order and position (albeit that's not always too easy), trim clips and make clips transition smoothly from one to the next with no breaks.

Obviously, just like I did in this test curated channel, you can bring any type of video content on any topic you like. These are 27 curated clips on content curation itself: http://www.dragontape.com/#!/4991003 ;

The playback interface is simply wonderful. Once you understand a few nuances it's impossible not to fall in love with it.

As I have said, the full compilation can be played back-to-back, while you have the option at all times to see the full playlist index and to jump to any clip you prefer.

Once completed your video mixtape can be easily published to the DragOnTape portal, as well as embedded into any web site or blog or shared with a direct link.

P.S.: While this is a great video curation platform that can be used for any topic, the spontaneous community of curators on DragOnTape has developed a spectacular trove of curated music mixtapes with some truly golden gems in there.

DragOnTape is free to use.

Excellent. 9/10
