Seth Godin Lao Tzu and me

This short video was produced to show how quick and easy it is to produce a video from an existing blog post using the free Lumen 5 video tool.

Lumen 5 is an AI-powered video creation platform that turns blog posts into engaging videos. Using the tool is easy, intuitive and surprisingly fast. After producing a few Lumen 5 videos, I expect you could create one in as little as 10 minutes from existing content like a blog post. You can see my original blog post here http://bit.ly/LaoTzu8 to compare it with the video produced so effortlessly.

The creative and marketing possibilities are very intriguing and so far Lumen 5 is free although it may offer more features for a price in the future. For now, it's an interesting tool to explore.

Businesses, bloggers, trainers, authors and really anyone can use it to produce social content to drive audience engagement online. Great thing is you can focus on your message, visuals and creativity without having to touch the technology.

You can get more info and demos for the app at www.lumen5.com.

Jeff Domansky's insight:

With Lumen 5, producing video content for social media is simple, easy intuitive and fast. My demo was taken from an older blog post about writing for the internet. Lots of potential for this tool.

Power of social, sharing and simple ~ video too | Strategic Driven

Power of social, sharing and simple ~ video too | Strategic Driven | Top Social Media Tools | Scoop.it

Vizify hit the ground running as a new social media platform that excels in social sharing. A smart, multi-channel approach is incorporated in their own marketing....Before this post, I had never heard of #Vizify. A tweet from a good friend mentioning me in her video caught my attention. Since there was a link, I was intrigued.

The video is brief–less than a minute–and it’s informative and entertaining at the same time. The fact I have a role doesn’t hurt either. After viewing her video, I am invited to create my own, or I should say, I am invited to let them create one for me. The user interface is clean, simple and entertaining, all at the same time. And the real power, you can edit if you don’t like the finished product they create....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Vizify looks like a video tool worth exploring.

Revamped Video Sharing Site Vimeo Launches Today | Simply Zesty

Revamped Video Sharing Site Vimeo Launches Today | Simply Zesty | Top Social Media Tools | Scoop.it
Vimeo today announced that the video sharing site has undergone a major revamp.

The blog entry that announced the revamp revealed that the work had been ongoing for the past year, and that staff “tore Vimeo down, thought hard about every aspect of it, and created the new Vimeo from scratch.”

There are dozens of new features on Vimeo, but the main changes were made in order to make the site faster and easier, with the focus being on the videos uploaded by users, while taking users’ feedback into account when creating the new features....

YouTube Director suite goes hunting for small businesses

YouTube Director suite goes hunting for small businesses | Top Social Media Tools | Scoop.it

YouTube has released a cluster of new products designed to help small businesses and first-time video advertisers record and publish videos in a bid to broaden the pool of potential media buyers using the online video service.

The quality of the resulting ads is, of course, largely dependent on the performances given by the people in it. And getting potential customers to see such an ad is another challenge altogether, but the basic production tools have been provided for free....

Free Technology for Teachers: Excellent Tools for Creating Videos Without Installing Software

Free Technology for Teachers: Excellent Tools for Creating Videos Without Installing Software | Top Social Media Tools | Scoop.it

Over the years I've published some lists and reviews of free tools for creating videos online. Quite a few of those tools have been for creating simple videos that are really just automated, audio slideshows. See Animoto for an example of this. There's nothing inherently wrong with having your students use those tools, but at some point you will want to take your video projects to the next level. These are the five tools that I recommend for creating and editing videos without installing any special software.

MixBit, The New App From YouTube's Founders, Aims To Turn Everyone Into A Filmmaker

MixBit, The New App From YouTube's Founders, Aims To Turn Everyone Into A Filmmaker | Top Social Media Tools | Scoop.it

With YouTube Chad Hurley and Steve Chen made publishing videos easy. Now they want to make it just as easy to create them. When Google wanted to boost the quality of YouTube’s content, it gave out $5 million in grants to select creators. YouTube cofounders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, who sold the service to Google in 2006, are now tackling the same problem, but with a different philosophy.

They hope that a new app they are launching on Thursday, called MixBit, will make shooting quality video scalable and accessible to everyone.“Unfortunately I think YouTube is going down the route of rewarding the select few around content creation, be it with partnerships or with ways of funding original content,” Hurley told Fast Company. “I can understand, it’s great to stimulate the community and make money available to them. But I feel that’s a more traditional approach to solving the problem. It’s basically replicating the studio model...I’m looking for something that doesn’t necessarily alienate any group of people, but gives them all equal access.

”That apparently includes people who never shoot any video. With MixBit, as with Instagram video and Vine, users touch their phones’ screens to take multiple video clips that the app combines into one video. But only MixBit allows other people to use those clips, if they’re public, in their own videos....
