The focus on the semantic web was fun, but ultimately missed the big picture, which is people care not about knowledge graphs but about the people and current events happening in their social graphs.

Pour Dominiek ter Heide, co-fondateur de Bottlenose, le web sémantique a échoué sur trois points :
- Le web des données véhicule des connaissances obsolètes. Nous n'en avons rien à faire du knowledge graph, nous vivons dans le présent, nous voulons savoir ce qui se passe dans notre graphe social
- Le web des documents est mort. Le web est entré dans la phase du web temps réel, le "Flux". Dans le Flux, le focus n'est plus sur les pages mais sur les messages, les interactions, les conversations.
- L'information doit être poussée, non recherchée. Nous avons besoin d'un web où l'information arrive à nous selon notre attention, nos émotions, nos connexions avec le reste du monde.
Nous vivons dans un monde de big data, de flux temps réel et d'émotions humaines. C'est un web intelligent, dynamique, parfois chaotique, à l'image du cerveau humain. C'est ce que Heide appelle le Synaptic Web.
Interesting point of view. Declaring the failure of semantic web is easy. Declaring the end of the document is interesting.
I agree that we entering in a new era where dialogues and messages (in place and in time) are more relevant that documents.
