Covid-19 is expected to cause a big rise in those living on less than $1.90 a day, says the World Bank.

Awful news from the World Bank: absolute poverty is set to rise for the first time in over 20 years, with the coronavirus pandemic pushing another 115 million people back into a situation where they are living on less than $1.90 per day, and there are even suggestions that this number could rise in 2021 too.

This article magnifies the inequality present in different countries. For example, China's inequality has rapidly increased over the last few decades while countries with more welfare based programs such as Denmark are the least unequal. The topic of inequality had been a common theme in the United States over the last 5 years. The inequality brought up is usually racial, monetary, or social.
