This story shows how consumers always sniff out bargains - in this case, to avoid high inflation and a lack of choice in New Zealand stores, Kiwi shoppers are bulk ordering groceries from Australian supermarkets to make savings on their shop.

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries has started rolling out its online retail service in India.
Graham Watson's insight:

A really interesting first 'scoop' of the year, with the news that Indian conglommerate Reliance Industries is going head-to-head with Amazon in the online retail sector, with the soft launch of JioMart, looking to offer online grocery delivery. 

 

It's fascinating to see how quickly all retail markets have moved towards this paradigm, but also telling that the only businesses that feel able to challenge Amazon are already exceptionally large with well-established brands.
