I think that this scoop relates to our readings this week because it talks about The ability to obtain, assimilate and apply the right knowledge effectively, will become a key skill in the next century. Our ability will no longer be judged solely by qualifications gained in the past, but will also be assessed by our capacity to learn and adapt in the future.

Point taken - in fact I thought that the given was that the flipped classroom style encouraged more active learning in class - where the teacher could mentor and where they were learning with their collaborators.
What is lacking for me in this article is retention level and what they are learning while they are learning. Are they just learning the skills and facts or are they also learning how collaborate with other using the facts. Did they just test once for these 'learning outcomes' mentioned or will retention be longterm.
I guess I need to read the study! |

Inevitablemente la post pandemia nos llevará a situaciones de inestabilidad en las escuelas. Y mientras no exista una vacuna y un periodo posterior donde no existan rebrotes del virus, la asistencia a clases será incierta y se tendrá que transitar obligadamente entre lo presencial y online por periodos indefinidos. La flipped classroom no es el “salón de clases flipado” como una traducción literal y descuidada podría sugerir. Flipped classroom es clase inversa o "al revés" donde Flip significa dar la vuelta a la clase y esto se refleja en que lo que tradicionalmente se hacía de tarea en casa, ahora en el flipped classroom se hace en la clase y lo que tradicionalmente se explicaba en clase, ahora en el flipped classroom el alumno lo recibe fuera del aula. La meta es que los estudiantes sean capaces de aprender por y para ellos mismos. Volver la enseñanza tradicional patas arriba. Que los alumnos vengan a clase a poner en práctica lo ya aprendido en sus casas, utilizando ellos mismos todos los recursos a su alcance y por supuesto las nuevas tecnologías: vídeo pregrabados por sus profesores, Internet, recursos digitales, etc. Esto es lo que se llama “flipped learning”, el aprendizaje al revés: tareas en clase, lecciones en casa.
